JOB DESCRIPTIONS

The job descriptions listed below are subject to change as more information is released by the developers and the Horizon Starlines' Board of Directors.  These positions may be merged or divided based on Horizon's final member count at the launch of the open universe.  Applicants will be chosen based on their attention to detail, previous MMORPG experience, in-game availability, and real life experience in their chosen area (position dependent).  Apply via the application link in the image above.  All positions are to be considered exlusive.

(TD/SD-001) Contract Pilot

Contract pilots are owners of their own vessel.  These pilots are applying for exclusive employment under the Horizon name with the expectation that they will be using their own vessel to carry out the directives of the corporation.  Contract pilots have the right to choose their vessel and crew with the understanding that they are solely responsible for their mission, cargo, and passengers; ultimately answering to the appropriate Division management.  Contract vessels and crew are subject to inspections and inventory checks by the corporation's Flight Auditor(s) and Inventory Manager(s).  Although reimbursed for fuel and supplies, contract crews are responsible for the repair and maintenance of their own vessels.  Vessels that have a state of repair less than corporate standard will have their contract suspended until these standards are met.

(TD-002) FLIGHT ATTENDANT

Flight attendants are the heart and soul of Horizon's Luxury Transport Division.  They are our front-line ambassadors to our customers and must strive to assure the highest level of passenger safety and satisfaction at all times.  Flight Attendant responsibilities include but are not limited to; greeting passengers upon arrival/departure, serving in-flight meals, mixing in-flight beverages, assisting passengers with carry-on luggage, identifying and reporting possible security or health violations, and placing restocking orders with the Horizon Inventory Manager(s).  Flight Attendants will have previous experience in hospitality, first aid, and sales; but will be expected to complete the necessary Horizon training programs once accepted.  All hospitality staff report to the flight's Commercial Pilot; and ultimately, the Junior Director of the Luxury Transport Division.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign attendants to the flights of their choosing.

(TD-003) FLIGHT MARSHAL

Flight Marshals are responsible for the safety of all passengers and crew on their assigned flights.  They are expected to remain in civilian clothing and only make their presence known to passengers during an emergency situation.  All flight marshals will receive training in weapons use, hand-to-hand combat, search and seizure, dangerous goods, biohazard/quarantine situations and passenger background checks.  Previous experience in any of these areas are considered an asset.  Flight marshals report to the Junior Director of the Corporate Defense Division, and ultimately; the Horizon Board of Directors.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign marshals to any flight they see fit.

(TD-004) FLIGHT MEDIC

Flight Medics are responsible for the health and well-being of all Horizon passengers and crew.  Medics are assigned to all flights carrying greater than six passengers, or when a VIP is on board.  After completing Horizon's medical training program, they will be proficient in first aid, infectious diseases, and biohazard/quarantine procedures.  Prior experience and knowledge in these areas are considered to be an asset.  Flight medics report to their flight's Commercial Pilot, and ultimately; the Junior Director of the Luxury Transport Division.   Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign medics to the flights of their choosing and will rely on their expertise in times of crisis.

(TD-006) COMMERCIAL PILOT

Commercial Pilots are the mobile leaders of each and every Horizon Flight.  All crew must report directly to their vessel's pilot prior to bringing situational concerns to the attention of their Division's Junior Director.  Commercial Pilots must be knowledgeable in the technical and operational details of their vessel and should be highly skilled in starship tactics and maneuvers.  Pilots are expected to report any course corrections, enemy sightings, security/medical situations, and/or supply requests to their assigned Flight Traffic Controller(s).  Commercial Pilots can request their preferred flight crew via their Junior Director; however, the decision of final crew assignments is reserved by the Junior Director.  Commercial Pilots report directly to the Junior Director of the Luxury Transport Division, and ultimately; the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horizon Starlines.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign pilots to any flight or route of their choosing.

(TD/SD-005) fleet engineer

Fleet Engineers are responsible for the maintenance and fueling of all Commercial Transport vessels in the Horizon fleet.  They must be fully familiar with the inner workings of each model currently in operation, and know how to safely repair and maintain them while following Horizon's engineering policies and procedures.  Fleet Engineers have the right to ground any vessel that they believe does not meet Horizon's maintenance and safety standards and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on the Horizon Board of Directors.  Previous experience in Engineering is an asset; however, all Fleet Engineers will be expected to complete Horizon's engineering training program.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign any Fleet Engineer to the port or repair yard of their choosing.  On occasion, Fleet Engineers may be assigned to a Horizon flight to observe or repair problematic systems.

(TD-007) TRAVEL AGENT

Horizon Travel Agents are the ambassadors of the Horizon brand.  Agents will be posted at key ports in order to promote and sell flight tickets, as well as the Horizon name.  Travel Agents will have previous experience in sales and be able to address any questions or concerns travelers may have.  All Travel Agents will be expected to be fully familiar with the inner workings of the Luxury Transport Division as well as the destinations, products and services offered for each flight.  Travel Agents report directly to the Junior Director of the Luxury Transport Division; and ultimately, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horizon Starlines.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign Travel Agents to any port or Horizon office of their choosing.

(TD-008) DOCK HAND

Dock Hands are responsible for filling and loading the order requests of Horizon flights in regards to on-board supplies, engineering components and fuel.  Once a flight has docked at its designated port, Dock Hands are responsible for the loading/unloading of these supplies as well as any passenger luggage.  Dock Hands must be familiar with the orders process, quality of supplies, and must strive to make sure these items are packed and loaded in time for the flight's scheduled departure.   Dock Hands report directly to their assigned Inventory Manager(s); and ultimately, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Horizon Starlines.  A Dock Hand's port assignment is reserved by Horizon Starlines.

(SD-002/003) Cargo lead/hand

Cargo Hands are responsible for the organization, loading and unloading of all Horizon Shipping Vessels.  Cargo Hands may be assigned to a specific vessel, or to a port of Horizon's choosing and report to either their designated Cargo Lead, and/or to their designated Inventory Manager(s).  Cargo Leads and Hands are also responsible for filling and loading supply requests made by Horizon crews to assure each and every vessel has the correct amount of supplies and customer cargo.  Cargo Hands will have previous experience in filling supply orders, organization, handling dangerous goods and moving cargo containers by hand or with the assistance of equipment.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign Cargo Hands/Leads to any port or flight they see fit.

(TD-004) FREIGHT PILOT

Freight Pilots are the mobile leaders of each and every Horizon Shipment - making thier cargo their top priority.  All in-flight cargo hands must report directly to their vessel's pilot prior to bringing situational concerns to the attention of their Division's Junior Director. Freight Pilots must be knowledgeable in the technical and operational details of their vessel and should be highly skilled in starship tactics and maneuvers in order to defend any cargo that may be on board.  Freight Pilots must be fully familiar with the regulations regarding dangerous goods for their assigned routes and ports.  Pilots are expected to report any course corrections, enemy sightings, inventory discrepancies, security situations, and/or supply requests to their assigned Flight Traffic Controller(s).  Freight Pilots can request their preferred cargo crew via their Junior Director; however, the decision of final crew assignments is reserved by the Junior Director.  Commercial Pilots report directly to the Junior Director of the Shipping Division, and ultimately; the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Horizon Starlines.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign pilots to any flight or route of their choosing.

(ED-001) FLIGHT AUDITOR

Flight Auditors are employed part-time or on contract by Horizon Starlines and are responsible for auditing the inner workings of both Commercial and Freight related flights.  They must be fully familiar with Horizon's policies and procedures in order to identify process improvements, policy violations, and safety concerns during their audit.  Previous experience with auditing and reporting is considered to be an asset.  Flight Auditors report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horizon Starlines.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign Auditors to any Freight or Commercial Transport flight that they believe may be in violation of corporate policies or procedures.  In the event that this position remains vacant - Horizon Starlines will choose auditors from their current pool of employees at random for one-time audits.

(ED-002) TRAFFIC CONTROLLER

Traffic Controllers serve as the coordination hub for all of Horizon's Luxury Transport and Shipping Flights.  They are responsible for scheduling and assuring flight arrivals, departures and delays are accurately recorded in the flight tracking database while serving as the main contact point for Pilots.  Traffic Controllers must be fully familiar with all policies, procedures and safety protocols in order to assist flights experiencing difficulties or emergency situations.  They are responsible for relaying any problem situations to the appropriate Horizon Director as well as orders being given to their assigned flights.  Traffic Controllers must demonstrate previous experience in fleet coordination, emergency counselling, and communications; but are still expected to complete the appropriate Horizon training programs.  Traffic Controllers report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horizon Starlines.

(ED-003) EXECUTIVE SECURITY AGENT

Executive Security Agents are responsible for the safety of all Horizon Executives and VIPs.  These Agents have full authority over any and all Horizon staff who do not hold executive status in emergency situations.  Executive Security Agents are stationed wherever their designated Horizon Executive may be, and can not leave the Executive's side at any time.  These agents must be proficient with most weapons, hand-to-hand combat, biological warfare/quarantines, first aid, and enemy profiling.  All Executive Security Agents report directly to the Junior Director of Horizon's Corporate Defense Division; and ultimately, the Executive that they are assigned to.  Horizon Starlines reserves the right to assign or reassign agents to any executive of their choosing.

(ED-004) INVENTORY MANAGER

Horizon Inventory Managers are responsible for the inventory of all Horizon and passenger assets; as well as the resupply coordination of the entire fleet.  Inventory Managers will receive resupply requests from vessel pilots, compile them, and relay the final order to the appropriate ports' Dock or Cargo Hand(s).  In the event of lost passenger luggage, Inventory Managers are responsible for launching an investigation to find such luggage and arranging appropriate transport in order to return it to the customer.  Inventory Managers will also be responsible for keeping an active inventory of all fleet assets and purchasing the necessary goods to maintain proper inventory levels throughout the fleet.  This includes, but is not limited to; keeping accurate financial records of the fleet's purchases and sales.  Previous experience in inventory management, financial records, purchasing, sales and inventory audits are an asset.  Inventory Managers report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Horizon Starlines.

(ED-005) JUNIOR/DIVISION DIRECTOR

Junior Directors serve as the leaders of each Horizon Division and the hand of the Board of Directors (BOD) in their absence.  First Officers to Division leaders, and Acting Directors also fit into this category as long as they comply with the guidelines set in the Corporate Charter.  Junior Directors are ultimately responsible for any and all decisions and actions taken by their division and must answer to the Board of Directors at all times.  Certain Junior Directors who are also elected as an acting senior director, may speak for a senior director in their absence at executive meetings.  Junior Directors must maintain an active in-game status to manage their staff accordingly and should have prior experience in MMO or business management, staff coordination, and organizational & communication skills.  Applications for Junior Directors are accepted; however, they will ultimately be appointed and elected by the Board of Directors once they have demonstrated the appropriate dedication and skills.  Please refer to the corporate charter for more information on Division Directors.
